Laurel Hill has quite a few homemade markers, which are featured on this page.

This marker is one of the more interesting and ornate markers in the cemetery. It's the only one of it's kind I've seen, and I love the carving.

The next marker is very nicely done; Mr. Barsell was a member of the Woodmen Circle.

I like the Hooten marker. It looks handmade, but has a frivolous air.

The middle marker is extremely weathered and difficult to read the name on.

The next marker shows a man who served in the 30th Illinois Infantry. There are several military markers in Laurel Hill, but not as many as you'd expect to see.
