Charles Kountze 

The Davis and Kountze families are very closely interconnected. They have the prime spot in Forest Lawn, Section 22, the "upper circle" location. The families started First National Bank here in Omaha, which their descendants still own today. It's one of the last family-owned banks in our area. 

 

There are several branches of the Kountze family buried here; this is the Charles T. Kountze family.

It was done as a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurses Association, by Mrs. May Burns Kountze, wife of Charles T. Kountze. Lots of pictures of the Kountze family and their society friends; hard to look at today knowing the poverty so much of Omaha and the rest of the country was unduring as the Depression went on. The well-to-do didn't have to worry about eating and a roof over their head.
