This is the Ruth Anne Dodge Memorial in Council Bluffs, Iowa, located at Lafayette Street and North 2nd. It occupies a landscaped area adjacent to Fairview Cemetery. Council Bluffs is right across the river from Omaha. Popular lore in the area has renamed it the Black Angel, which is the name I first heard it called. However, the statue is representative of the pioneer history of this area, because it is a memorial for one of the oldest still extant families in Omaha/Council Bluffs.
