The top photo shows the wear and tear on the gateposts over the years by the harsh Nebraska winters and hot summers; it was taken in 2011. The cemetery has been working to remove these trees and rebuilding the retaining walls and fence.


This photo shows the nice view you get of the south Omaha neighborhood that surrounds the cemetery, and the interstate which is less than 50 feet from the eastern-most boundary of the plots. This is from the topmost point of the cemetery.

The Kennedy extension on I-80 goes right past Laurel Hill; you have a splendid view of the cemetery as it slops upward when you drive past.
